So what are plastic pallets?

96% of our plastic pallets are made from recycled materials, which also makes them the environmentally friendly alternative to wooden pallets.

Plastic pallets can also be recycled and turned into new plastic pallets, which means that they stay in a closed loop life cycle, which is an essential waste management for environmental protection. This is completely different to wooden pallets, which once broken cannot be remade into wooden pallets.

But why do we need plastic pallets?

Plastic pallets are an essential component of today’s economic and socially responsible supply chain.

They are more than just getting goods from A to B.

Since pallets started life as ‘skids’ in the early 1900s, they have been adapted, redesigned and evolved into the pallets that we know today.

With technology ever changing, the last 100 years have seen the pallet completely overhauled to work with forklift trucks, mechanical palletization systems and industrial robots. And in 1964 we saw the first plastic pallet.

All of these advancements in both technologies and the humble pallet itself have seen huge gains in streamlining automation and supply chain processes across a wide range of industries.

What’s the future of plastic pallets?

Since then we have been working to ensure that every single plastic pallet (and box) we supply is returned to us at the end of its life, recycled, turned it into a new plastic pallet.
